Hosted by the NE Soil Health Coalition and partner, FCS— Zach Mader, Producer Lead; Jordan Uldrich, Producer Demonstration-Education Cluster Site and Board member; Claudia Stevenson, retired NRCS, Perkins and Keith County; and Mike McDonald, Board Producer Lead. Brian Brhel is our second Producer Lead; he and other staff will be involved in future steps. We will also be hiring a PT producer lead in your hub later this spring. Goals:
Organize a producer driven learning community in rural NE to support agriculture
obtain your input on establishing Producer Clusters in southwest NE, tied to mutual goals ie., economic ROI and soil health,
value added network and create market connections ie., livestock, diversified rotations, etc.,
soil health benchmarking tied to southwest NE,
signup for possible incentives tied to nutrients, grazing and enhanced markets including possibly a Hub Carbon Coop.
Determine if you want to participate in new Demonstration-Education Site/Clusters and free Producer Lead/s support.
Future Steps:
—May 31 evening (social and BBQ); June 1st Learning Community—"Jay Fuhrer, Ray Ward, Jason Ackerson (SHI), and TBA at 1-2 producers' sites in Hub 2. Two learning sessions/year; you can be as active as you desire.
